Symmetry

Another polar bear photo - Arkos and Nanuq are just too adoarable. They are usually playing whenever I come by, this time I managed to get a cuddle-shot and if I'm not completely mistaken they try to reenact the Yin-Yang-symbol. Only problem: They both appear to be Yang.
Anyway, I went for a clear symmetric format - the central point being the center of their "circle". I usually try to stick to the rule-of-thirds, in this case I wanted to focus on the implied duality - apart from that the background isn't too exciting, as well. So far I'm quite content with the photo, I had several nice ones to choose from and I think this is the best :)

That's what your mom said, before I shaved her back! ATHF

Is there some tread left on those tires, or is it just like throwing a hot dog down the hallway? Family Guy

I love the square format and the centred-ness of this shot, good choice. I think if I were to do anything to this shot (which I love as it is) I would perhaps add a little bit more blue in the colour balance - to try and bring the polar bears a little closer to home as it were :)

you're right and I actually tried to but the main problem is that their fur was pretty dirty from playing around earlier, giving it a similar colour as the background so the whole pic would get this blueish tone that makes it look quite unrealistic... in the end I decided to just leave it that way and not overdo it on the processing ^^ I also thought about converting it to b/w...

B&w could work, but it would probably lose a little in the process. I hate it when you get to those colour-wise dead ends!

well, I shouldn't be complaining, the polar bears are quite photo-friendly animals :D I've got my playing cub in the water, I'm happy

Wow, definitely jealous! I've never done wild (well wild-ish if they're in a zoo/park i suppose) animal photography.
